History[]

Listed as being constructed on 13 June 1959, before serving with 471 Sq Spanish Air Force as "471-15", this aircraft was retained as a training aid for airframe repairs, with evidence of surface patches visible on the fuselage. Later part of the Wilson Edwards Collection at Big Spring, Texas, where a number of animals used the fuselage for nesting purposes,[2] it was one of a number of HA-1112's offered for sale by Platinum Fighters in 2005.[N 3] Following restoration in the UKL, 111 was added to the UK register as G-HISP in September 2018.[2]

  1. Messerschmitt Bf 109 aircraft, which were licence built by Spanish Hispano Aviaçion in the 40’ and 50’s, using Rolls-Royce Merlin engines.
