History[]

Constructed as a HA-1112-M1L by Hispano at Spain, and taken on Strength/Charge with the Ejercito de Aire with s/n C.4K-31.

From 14 May 1968 to 20 February 1969, it was registered to Spitfire Productions Ltd as G-AWHE. Acquired by Wilson Connie Edwards Ranch, Edwards Lucian Wells Ranch Airport, Big Spring, TX, it passed on 6 September 1991 to American Airpower Heritage Fly Musm, Midland, TX as N109ME, joining the inventory of Commemorative Air Force Airpower Museum, Midland International Airport (MAF), Midland, TX.

On 9 October 1993, eLaReF photographed the aircraft At the Confederate Air Force Air Show at Midland, Texas. On 25 May 2004 a new Certificate of airworthiness was issued. On 10 June 2008 civil registration N109ME was cancelled, and the aircraft was exported to United Kingdom.

The aircraft was registered with Magnificent Obsessions Ltd as G-AWHE from 12 June 2008 to 27 May 2011, when a crtificate of airworthiness for G-AWHE was issued to Spitfire Ltd, Saint. Helier, Jersey. Mov ed to Duxford Airport, Duxford, Cambridgeshire/Cambs, England, C.4K-31 was photographecd there by Robert Nichols on 13 July 2013, during RNAS Yeovilton Air Day.[3]
