History[]

Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force in 1942, in 1968 this aircraft was converted to a Val Replica, and marked as AI-232 for use in the filming of the movie Tora Tora Tora.

On 28 January 1984, it passed to Westair International Inc, Broomfield, CO as N67629

During July 1987 it was photographed by Tom Tessier at Planes of Fame Air Museum, Chino, CA, and again on 29 December 1988.

After recieving markings AI-201, the aircraft was used in the filming of the movie Pearl Harbor returning to the Air Museum, Chino, CA on 17 December 1999

The aircraft was photographed by Tom Tessier on 15 May 2000, and on 21 July 2000 by Han de Ridder

A Certificate of airworthiness was issued on 27 January 2004.

Based at Planes of Fame Air Museum, Chino Airport, Chino, CA., the aircraft is operated as a Val replica.

Relocated to Planes of Fame-Grand Canyon, Valle Airport, Grand Canyon, AZ., it was photographed on 26 June 2010 by John Meneelywhile at Valle, AZ

The aircraft participated in the Planes of Fame Air Show at Chino, California on 2 May 2015, and again on 3 May 2018, before transfer to the Planes of Fame Air Museum, Chino, CA on 1 November 2018[1]
